About Us

Bolero Snort Brewery didn't start with a building. It started in 2013 with a philosophy: brew ales and lagers that take traditional styles and twist them into something worth talking about. For years, the team brewed as gypsies, contracting at host breweries across the tristate area, honing recipes and building a following one pour at a time.

Then came the real thing. They broke ground on their own facility in Spring 2018 and opened the Carlstadt tasting room in 2020, planting their flag at 316 20th Street. The space is large, well-maintained, and stocked with serious parking, because they built it for the kind of afternoon where you settle in, work through the tap list, and lose track of time in the best way.

The tap menu is the main event. Guests consistently rave about the rotating selection, from crushable lighter pours to hazy ales that hit every note. Prices stay honest, small pours start around $4, and the range means everyone at the table finds something. That 4.8-star rating across 454 reviews isn't an accident. It's what happens when a brewery actually cares about what's in the glass.

What We Offer

The tasting room is the anchor. Pull up a seat at the bar or claim a spot in the open floor, and the staff walks you through whatever's flowing that day. On-tap beer service covers a rotating lineup of ales and lagers brewed with bold intent, and the selection is broad enough that a light beer drinker and a hazy IPA devotee can both leave satisfied.

Beyond the pour, Bolero Snort offers private event hosting for groups who want something more than a generic venue. The brewery also runs a merchandise shop and a beer finder tool that connects fans to distribution partners across the tristate area, so the pints don't have to stop when you leave Carlstadt. Keep an eye on their events calendar for scheduled happenings throughout the year.

"Great well-maintained space. Large parking with lots of spaces on a Saturday mid-afternoon. Great prices...lighter beer small pours (11 ounces) start at around $4. Great variety of beer...from lights, to heavies and even some creative (fruity) varieties. Flights available. Lovely artistic and creative decor throughout. Outdoor and indoor seating available. Counter-height tables, bar seating and some soft couches inside space. Some board games as well as a foosball table. They sell to-go cans and some merch toward the back where the brewery is located. Bring your own food (BYOF)...there are some food options within 5 minutes, They also have a few menus on site if you want to order delivery. Clean bathroom. Friendly and helpful staff."

"Second time to Bolero Snort and they continue to impress. The hazies are pretty good but the selection is always the selling point! Their tap menu is impressive with a little something for every beer lover. My wife had an imperial stout that was bursting with chocolate but balanced and bot overly sweet. I had the peanut butter milkshake which was surprisingly smooth, with a strong pb aroma. Always try to stop by when in area as you’re guaranteed to find something regardless of what type of beer you like."

"We had an amazing first birthday party for our son up in the Bolero Snort party room. Montana was awesome helping us adjust our weekend party date due to the huge snow storm coming in. Amanda was our beertender for the party and was phenomenal with helping us decorate / set up the room, even providing serving spoons and water bottles for our guests! Above and beyond and so sweet through the whole event. Everyone was raving about the beers and ambiance of the venue and even want to come back to try more of their menu ! We will definitely be back for more events!"

"Had the pleasure of spending my Sunday here. Great Beer, Great Prices and Great Service. Place is super nice, clean and I would most definitely recommend it. You can bring your own food, order delivery and they have food trucks in the parking lot. They also have outdoor seating and plenty of parking. A Great time was had today by us. I’d recommend the Sour Mango Beer, NJ Vice and the Juicy Pebbles. Plenty to choose from but those were my favorites."
